. . . . . . . . . . .

I was so excited to receive this book from Penguin Random House. I have been a huge fan of vinyl since I was a little girl, and I am slowly growing my collection. This book is absolutely perfect for me to keep track of the records I have and the ones I want to add to my collection.

A Record of My Vinyl is not a novel or a nonfiction book, but a notebook/journal to log all of your vinyl records you own and those you are looking to add to your collection.

The book is set up with the first couple of pages as an introduction, including how to use the book. The next hundred or so pages are where you log your vinyl. Each page is large enough to log four separate vinyl entries with categories for artist, label, album, country, catalog number, year, grade, and liner notes. Toward the back of the book are a few pages on how to care for your vinyl, how to price your vinyl, and understanding the various record speeds. The last ten or so pages are where you record the vinyl you are looking for. And the really cool part is the pages are perforated so you can take your list with you while shopping for your wish list vinyl.

The cover is amazing! The gray/taupe background of the cover has a suede feel to it and the record is plastic with ridges, which resembles an actual record. The record flows from the front cover to the spine and onto the back cover. It is pretty cool! I absolutely love the cover and the spine looks really sharp stacked next to all of my vinyl.

I really loved this book, so I had to give it 5 out of 5 stars. It would make a perfect birthday or Christmas gift for a record collector or music lover.
